Welcome to EMOLAB

During our work as research assistants for the CV-19 Heroes project, my fellow lab mates, Sam Hughes and Sarah Lemon and I began to explore the idea of EMOtional LABour in research. We designed a study which employed reflective narratives to capture how we and others working on the CV-19 Heroes project felt as we interviewed and analysed stories from frontline workers.

 

The first findings of the study are included as a chapter in 'The Social Science of the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Call to Action for Researchers', available here via Oxford Academic.

We are currently working on a second phase which sees us interview others in the research process regards their understanding and experiences of emotional labour.
